Your private key must be always handled by you and kept private, only the hosting company could see if asked for.
What is Wildcard SSL Certificate?
Wildcard SSL certificates can cover one main domain name (www.domain.com) and an unlimited amount of subdomains (mail.domain.com, login.domain.com, test.domain.com, etc.).
Is there any need of generating a new CSR while renewing the certificate?
As per our suggestion, generate a new CSR to renew a certificate; however, you can use your original CSR as well and it will work. Only the drawback using original CSR is you'll be using same private key.
How to use 256-bit encryption?
This is a server configuration and has nothing to do with certificate.
