    DNS Propagation Check

Instantly check how your DNS records look across 6 public resolvers — Cloudflare, Google, Quad9, OpenDNS, AdGuard, NextDNS — in parallel.

    What is DNS propagation?

When you update a DNS record — change a nameserver, point a domain to a new IP, add a new TXT record — your authoritative DNS server has the new value immediately. But the rest of the internet doesn't know yet. Caching resolvers around the world only check back after their cached copy expires (the TTL — Time To Live).

DNS propagation is the window between making the change and every resolver seeing the new value. During propagation, some visitors see the new site, others still see the old. This tool queries 6 major public resolvers in parallel so you can see which ones have picked up your change. If you want sub-minute propagation and global anycast delivery for your zone, consider Netspace India DNS hosting.

    Tips to speed up propagation

    • Lower your TTL to 300 seconds (5 min) at least 24 hours before you make the change
    • After propagation completes, raise TTL back to 3600+ for better DNS performance
    • Use an anycast DNS provider — Netspace India, Cloudflare etc. push changes to global edge within seconds

    Frequently Asked Questions

    What is DNS propagation?

DNS propagation is the time it takes for a DNS change to reach caching resolvers worldwide. Different resolvers refresh at different times (based on TTL), so a change you made might be visible on one and still cached on another.

How long does DNS propagation take?

Anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours, depending on the record's TTL (Time To Live). Most changes are visible on major public resolvers within an hour.

Why do some resolvers show different results?

Each resolver has its own cache. If one picked up your change at 10:00 and another at 10:15, during that gap they'll return different answers.

    Which resolvers do you check?

We query Cloudflare (1.1.1.1), Google (8.8.8.8), Quad9 (9.9.9.9), OpenDNS, AdGuard DNS, and NextDNS in parallel over DNS-over-HTTPS.

How can I speed up propagation?

Lower your TTL before making changes (e.g. 300 seconds). After the change propagates, raise it back for better performance.

    Is this propagation check free?

Yes — completely free, no signup, no rate limits for normal use. Hosted by Netspace India.
